In 2013, a group of like-minded local collage artists fomed the Brooklyn Collage Collective (BCC). Now made up of ten core members, the BCC has exhibited work in galleries across the world. During one of these international adventures, members of the BCC met a group of collage artists from Sydney, Australia, and they teamed up for an exhibition. Soon after, their Australian friends formed the Sydney Collage Society. The Sydney Collage Society (SCS) is a collective of artists focused on the practice of analogue collage. Established in 2015 by founding members Kubi Vasak and Leah Early, SCS stays busy producing group shows and collage workshops at the Art Gallery of NSW. Each of its members transcends the ‘craft’ troupe to balance the ideals of art and design.
