To mark Chinatown Soup's decade of existence, founder and director Michelle Marie Esteva curated a group of 22 artists and friends to produce a commemorative Tarot pack in conversation with the Major Arcana. Each artist was assigned an archetype from this sequence, divined from their experiences at Chinatown Soup. The cards feature a variety of styles and mediums referencing soup in some way, literal or abstract. From a humble food staple to an icon of the pop art movement to astrophysicist analogies for describing the birth of the universe, the interpretive possibilities of soup are vast and wonderful. Likewise, this project activates an esoteric system of oracular, visual art to celebrate and archive an artistic journey seeking creative freedom in the 21st century.

This release coincides with a group exhibition showcasing the deck's original artworks. The limited-edition deck is also available for purchase online while supplies last.
